Join Melinda Bryan for a two day hands on workshop, for all levels to learn basic to advanced ex programming, refine start positions, movement patterns, modifications, and key areas of focus. Program designed for exercise professionals, Pilates teachers, Pilates apprentices, and physical therapists. Learn to integrate Pilates programming into your ex system for a variety of clients. Participants can apply workshop hours towards current Pilates Certification Online and The Pilates Studio of Los Angeles apprenticeship.

You’ll learn to:

  • Learn or refine basic to intermediate level exercises on the Pilates Reformer

  • Understand the six key principles of classical Pilates

  • Develop visual assessment and manual cueing skills

  • Develop verbal communication skills

  • Learn how to identify anatomical weakness

  • Use specific Pilates exercises to address weakness and limited mobility in the trunk and extremities

  • Learn to modify and adapt exercises for a variety of clients/patients

  • See how Pilates exercises are integrated into physical therapy or post rehab training

  • Participate and practice exercises on the Pilates reformer

  • Discuss how to modify exercises for clients/patients in pain

  • Discuss when, why, and how to refer to another appropriate health care professional

Date: Saturday and Sunday, October 1- 2, 2016

Time: 8:30am - 4:00pm (total of 6.5 hours - 1 hour lunch break)
